HOW TO GET + MAINTAIN OMBRE HAIR!

Okay so I have now had my hair ombred twice, basically a year apart and it lasted actually really well. Now I've had it re-done I thought it was le perfect moment to do a little routine/how to maintain/how to get ombre hair. Firstly, DON'T DO IT YOURSELF. it will look shit. (*sadie saxon voice* you're welcome)
So yeah, once it's ombred, or even if you're hair is fully bleached this will probably help you out aswell.

1. Get yourself a purple shampoo. The one I use is the Lee Stafford BLEAch BLondes (what the fuck is up with the wierd capitalization Lee? Who are you Karl Marx.... politics banter lol) As you can see it's a really scarily dark purple colour and will tint your hair if you leave it on too long but any lighter shades of purple won't actually do anything to your hair. The purple colour basically tones your hair because the purple combats the gross Simpson yellow out of your hair.

Now I don't use this every day or my hair would go purple so I use this like twice a week and then use Aussi Aussome Volume (who comes up with these shampoo names seriously?) but honestly I don't actually wash my hair that often and I never really bother with a shampoo that isn't on offer or something. (Disclaimer: I try wash my hair every other day i.e 3 or 4 times a week rather than everyday that's what I meant by "not that often" don't want you thinking I'm some muck.)

As for conditioner I find just any conditioner that goes with your hair type, I don't really have any major hair concerns so at the moment I'm using one for blondes but it's not a purple colour and I will probably get a nice rich one after summer because my hair is feeling pretty fried. But if you have dry hair use an intensive one, oily hair use a lightweight one etc...

Okay this next product looks gross and when you apply it you get scared to death that you're about to die you're hair blue but it is THE BIGGEST BLONDE HAIR SAVIOUR EVEEER! This is the Directions Silver dye, I put this on the blonde parts of my hair whenever it starts to look a wee brassy and it just turns it this lovely silvery/cool toned blonde. It says to leave it on for 20 minutes... don't. It won't work. I leave it on for about 45 minutes if I want to just make my hair a bit cooler toned and about an hour and a half if I want my hair to go silver. However I think I'm going to do a post on how to get silver dip dye when I get back from London on Wednesday.

This is just a little leave in treatment thing I picked up from Savers but it smells awesome and was really cheap. It comes out a creamy purple colour and I just put it on dry hair before I go to sleep to tone and moisturise my hair a bit. I would really recommend getting a product like this.

This next one I find is a love/hate product. I loved it before I got my hair ombred again, I haven't used it since because my hair is now obviously really blonde but it's awesome for topping up your bleached hair and I used it to brighten up my highlights I got done earlier in the year. It basically works like putting lemon on your hair but it doesn't smell and it's not so bad for your hair. It lightens your hair through heat and light so works insanely well in the summer. Whenever I start using it people always ask me if I've dyed my hair again which obviously means it works pretty darn well. (I keep typing die by accident...)

Any hair type, dyed or not needs a hair serum. I have a few hair oils and serums they basically do the same thing, but this is my favourite. Though very expensive Kérastase Elixir Kultime works better than all the Morrocan/Argan oil type treatments I've tried and is honestly worth the price. After using it honestly makes you have that "just out of the hairdressers" hair feeling and you need the teensiest bit!
